By combining technologies of ultra-wide (UWB) RF position tracking and inertial sensor based orientation and position tracking, POTAARS introduces a paradigm shift to the idea of how training and simulation exercises are to be conducted and reviewed.  Having knowledge of position and orientation of participants and their weaponry within an exercise allows our system to track all activities as well as to create 3D animations of the complete exercise that, when combined with video camera technology, provides the most comprehensive after action review capability possible.  Instructors can quickly jump to specific events within the exercise and allow the system to determine the most optimum camera angles (both virtual and real) to view those events from.  Additionally, with weapon activity being tracked, the system provides knowledge of all firing events and the results of those events.

Working in combination with the Ubisense RTLS positioning system, Inertia Labs has teamed with the industry leader in the area ultra-wideband RF position tracking.  The Ubisense RTLS system provides position accuracy better than 6in and is capable of tracking areas as large as 100 ft x 100 ft with a single tracking cell.
